Server-side tracking, answered.

Everything store owners ask before switching their PrestaShop tracking server-side — grouped by topic. If your question isn’t here, a free teardown is the fastest way to get a straight answer about your specific store.

01

The basics

What is server-side tracking?+

Instead of relying on tags in the shopper’s browser to report conversions, server-side tracking sends those events from your own server. Because the events don’t depend on the browser, they survive ad-blockers, iOS restrictions and browser privacy settings that silently drop a large share of client-side data.

Why am I losing conversions in the first place?+

Apple’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention, App Tracking Transparency on iOS, and the widespread use of ad-blockers all prevent browser tags from firing or shorten the cookies they rely on. The result is that 30–50% of conversions can go unrecorded — so your analytics and ad platforms under-report real sales.

Will this work with my PrestaShop store?+

Yes. The module supports PrestaShop 1.7 through 8.x on PHP 7.2 and above. It installs from the back office like any other module, with no theme changes and no build step.

Do I need to be technical to use it?+

No. You install a module and paste a license key; we host and configure the tracking server. The complex part — running the server-side container and connecting each platform — is handled for you.

02

How it works

Does it replace my existing GA4 and pixel setup?+

It can run on its own or alongside your existing tags. In hybrid mode, client and server events share an ID so they’re deduplicated — you keep the richness of client-side data with the reliability of server-side delivery.

Which events does it track?+

All thirteen standard ecommerce events, from page_view and view_item through add_to_cart, begin_checkout and purchase, to refund and sign_up — the full funnel, captured server-side from real PrestaShop actions.

How does it avoid double-counting purchases?+

Purchase events use a deterministic event ID built from the order reference. A refreshed confirmation page or a returning visitor reuses the same ID, so the sale is only ever counted once across client and server.

Does server-side tracking slow my store down?+

No. The work of talking to GA4, Google Ads and Meta happens on the hosted tracking server, not in your shopper’s browser or your checkout. Moving tags server-side typically reduces client-side script weight.

03

Platforms

Which platforms are supported?+

GA4, Google Ads and Meta Conversions API are live today. Microsoft Ads, TikTok and Pinterest are on the roadmap and will use the same server-side pipeline.

Does it support Google Ads Enhanced Conversions?+

Yes. Hashed email, phone and name are sent with conversions for stronger matching, and Google click IDs (gclid, gbraid, wbraid) are captured so conversions attribute to the right click — including on iOS.

Does it fix the iOS 14 Meta pixel drop?+

It directly addresses it. Events are sent through Meta’s Conversions API server-side, which App Tracking Transparency and ad-blockers can’t intercept, recovering conversions the pixel alone loses.

04

Privacy & data

Is this GDPR-compliant?+

The architecture is built to support compliance: personal data is SHA-256 hashed before it leaves your server, consent signals are respected, and you control which platforms receive data. Your own consent banner and privacy policy complete the picture.

What personal data leaves my server?+

Identifying fields — email, phone, name and similar — are normalised and hashed before transmission, so platforms receive irreversible hashes rather than readable data. A couple of fields like country and postal code are sent as required by the platforms.

Do you store or sell my customer data?+

No. The tracking server is a conduit that forwards events to the platforms you connect. We don’t sell or share your customers’ data, and we don’t use it for anything beyond delivering your tracking.

05

Pricing & setup

How much does it cost?+

One fixed plan: €69.99 per month or €699 per year (roughly two months free). That covers every platform, the hosted server, all events and support — no per-event fees or add-ons.

Is there a setup fee or contract?+

No setup fee. The monthly plan is month-to-month with no lock-in. Installation and configuration are included in the plan.

How do I get started?+

Book a free teardown. We audit your current tracking, show you what’s leaking, and if it makes sense, set up your tracking server and hand you a module ready for your license key.

A free teardown answers it with your real numbers — not a generic FAQ.
